A jewelry box given as a birthday present to Allison Mortimer.

The Design: This is pretty much a direct extraction of ideas from a piece that Pottery Barn offered in the late '90s that Allison liked. It is made from pine with 8 small drawers and is intentially askew for the 'country' look. I remember this being extremely annoying to work on due to the fact that I did not have the right tools at the time. Ideally this is would be done with a table saw (which I find scary) - so my preferred choice would be with a miter box of some sort - which I didn't have. Instead I did everything by eye and a small t-square and a Japanese hand pull saw.

The finish on this piece is a food safe Lemon oil designed for wooden bowls - I wanted a water proof and safe protectant.
